Integrity Policy

For us at Origo Group, your privacy and our handling of your personal data is important. We therefore welcome the new General Data Protection Regulation (2016/679) or GDPR which came into force on 25 May 2018, and which gives you as an individual greater control over how your personal data are used.

How do we handle your personal data?

We have developed a privacy policy that describes how we use information about you as a participant in our surveys. Our privacy policy contains information about how Origo Group AB and its subsidiaries (“Origo Group”) use personal data about you as a participant in our surveys.

Origo Group complies with GDPR

Origo Group is one of Sweden’s leading analysis and data collection companies. We are active in the public and private sectors, and offer expertise in both quantitative and qualitative analysis. Origo Group is a Swedish limited liability company with its headquarters in Stockholm, Sweden.

Origo Group operates within the EU and complies with the General Data Protection Regulation (2016/679) or GDPR as well as other applicable laws and regulations on the protection of personal data. Origo Group also complies with the codes of conduct from applicable market and opinion polling organisations, including, but not limited to, ESOMAR (www.esomar.org).

This privacy policy applies to people residing in all countries of the world. Origo Group has established procedures that are consistent with this policy, and will require its partners to do the same.

Surveys that are collected and managed by Origo Group’s clients are not covered by this privacy policy.

When and why do we process your personal data?

Individuals participate in surveys carried out on behalf of Origo Group’s customers. In most cases, Origo group’s customers are the controllers and Origo group will only process your personal data as a processor, at the request of a controller. For certain types of surveys, the Origo Group is the controller instead, and in such cases we will inform you of this.

Participation in Origo Group’s surveys is always voluntary. You can end a survey at any time, for example, if you do not want to answer a question.

Your personal data may be used for a number of different purposes, as described in connection with a survey, in an interview or equivalent. If you would like more information, please feel free to contact us as described in the Contact information section below.

The personal data processed may include contact information such as name, address, telephone number, e-mail address, date of birth and other similar information that needs to be processed for the assignment in question. There is always a purpose for the processing of any personal data in connection with the relevant survey, usually the balance of interests, public interest or consent.

Personal data may have been voluntarily provided to Origo Group by you or by our clients or other database owners, or has been collected by Origo Group from public sources. In other situations, we register the information you have chosen to provide.

In some surveys, Origo Group may collect sensitive personal data such as information about political opinions, religious beliefs or philosophical beliefs, health data or other. If Origo Group collects sensitive personal data about you, Origo Group will always obtain your express consent to this processing.

When does Origo Group have the right to process your personal data?

Origo Group has the right to process the personal data required to fulfil our clients’ legitimate interests or to perform an assignment of public interest. Origo Group also has the right to process your personal data if you have given consent to such processing.

Who do we share your personal data with?

Your personal data is used by Origo Group and Origo Group’s processors. We do not disclose personal data to other companies, authorities or other organisations unless we are required to do so by law, regulation or Government decision.

The results of the survey in which you participate will be delivered to the clients that ordered the specific survey from us. However, individually identifiable information will not be given to the clients that ordered the survey or any other third parties.

If participation in a survey or other activity means that personal data is made available to any third party other than Origo Group and Origo Group’s processor, Origo group will only share your personal data if you expressly consent to this.

How long is personal data stored?

Origo Group does not store personal data any longer than is required to complete and report the current survey or as approved by you. How long data are stored may also depend on the applicable legislation.

What rights do you have?

You have the right to receive information about what personal data Origo Group processes about you on behalf of our clients. In this case, you should request this in writing from Origo Group (for contact details, see below). If you believe that any information about you is incorrect or misleading, or if you would like it to be deleted, you can contact Origo Group with a written request for change or deletion.

Upon receipt of a request from an individual, Origo Group will attempt to provide the requested information within 30 days, assuming that the request is of such a nature that it can reasonably be answered within this time period. If more time is required, Origo Group will notify you within 30 days.

As a respondent you have the right to submit any complaints to the Swedish Data Protection Authority.

Privacy and security

Your participation in a survey or other market research programme is entirely voluntary and Origo group’s use of your personal data occurs with your consent.

No technology systems are fully protected from hacking. However, Origo Group has taken all reasonable technical security measures necessary to protect the personal data against unauthorised access, alteration and destruction. Only employees who need access to your information in order to perform their duties are authorised to access your personal data. Origo Group has procedures to assure the quality of the data at each stage of the survey process, in order to ensure that all data including personal data are accurate and up to date.
